the springles story

After starting our family in Brighton over seven years ago, in 2017 we decided that it was time to make the change from city life and find somewhere in rural Sussex to bring up our two children.  It didn’t take us long to find Springles Barn and instantly fell in love with the garden and location.  There was a dwelling onsite that would have once been a farm store, and then developed into a small studio, but had fallen into disrepair and needed a complete renovation. We knew we wanted to share this lovely space as a holiday home and so the Springles Cottage project began.  Lots of thought went into how we could future proof the building, ensuring its sustainability.  One of the main challenges was switching from oil to an air-source and ground-source heating system.  With a great building and architect team, we have created a lovely boutique holiday house that is sympathetic to it’s surroundings.

Springles is such a special place to enjoy all the seasons. The garden is full of wildlife, from buzzards to deer, there is always something to keep a look out for.  The top of the garden is what the children have coined ‘Sunset Spot’. From there, you have views across the fields to The Downs beyond and perfect place to watch the sun disappear behind the hills and trees.  It is the ideal place to unwind and find some space in nature.

We really can’t wait to welcome you to Springles Cottage and share our home with you.
