OUTSIDE AT SPRINGLES COTTAGE

THE GARDEN

The Springles garden is yours to share during your stay. It has something for everyone.  The back of the cottage has a small private terrace with a table and chairs for alfresco dining.  In the evening,  sit by the warmth of the fire pit and do some star gazing, keeping an ear out for the owls that live in the surrounding oak trees.  Help yourself to wood from the store to keep the fire going.

The garden is heaven for the little ones: rope swings, trees to climb, football goals, sunken trampoline and a tree house.

For the adults, we have deckchairs and a hammock for you to relax in during the sunny summer months. There is a small table and chairs at ‘Sunset Spot’, where you can watch the sun go down over the fields whilst drinking a glass of wine.  It really is our favourite place in the garden.  We also have a BBQ for you to use during your stay.

Veg Patch.jpg

In the corner of the garden Alliah has a veg patch that she tries to keep in use all year round. Please feel free to help yourselves to any veg or herbs.  Nice to send the children in there to see what they can pick for dinner. In the autumn the hedgerow is full of blackberries for the taking.

From Springles, you can head straight out of the gate on your bikes down to Barcombe Mills and hire a rowing boat for the afternoon on the River Ouse. Or walk across the fields to The Jolly Sportsman, one of our favourite local pubs.  Lewes is 10 minutes drive, Brighton and the beach 25 minutes. We are here to give you any local information. Maps and guide books are in the cottage if you need them.
