FAMILY DAYS OUT

We are so lucky where we live as there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Here are a few of our favourite things to do in the area.

castles

We have lots of castles that you can enjoy in Sussex.  Most of them are a full day out.  Lewes is our small local one and is more of a half day activity.

FAMILY FRIENDLY PUBS & RESTAURANTS

We are spoilt for choice with good places to eat nearby. All of the pubs we’ve recommended have gardens for the kids to run around in. Lewes has lots of restaurants that welcome children. Find some of our favourites below:

Spithurst Hubbery Cafe:  Just outside Barcombe. Only open at weekends but it is a lovely outdoor cafe in a beautiful little garden.  They sell delicious Swedish cakes and treats.  Kids can roam around the garden area.

Bills: Great place for brunch/lunch.  Has a great kids menu and lovely space to sit inside and out.

Hixon Green: Nice spacious restaurant  in Lewes with a good kids menu.

The Hatch Inn Colemans Hatch: On the edge of Ashdown Forest so a great place to visit after trying to find Winnie the Pooh and his friends.
